We enjoyed celebrating World Maths Day at school on Friday. Junior Infant parents were invited in to school to play maths games with the children. Here are some pictures... Inniu, eagraíodh cruinniú idir an Comhairle Gaeilge - comhairle sealadach a chuireadh le chéile chun ócáidí spraoiúla a eagrú don scoil mar chuid de Sheachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí urlabhraí nó dhó ó ghach rang sa scoil, chomh maith le cúpla múinteoir, agus d'éirigh leo fís don tseachtain a chur le chéile. Táimid go léir ag tnúth go mór leis na heachtraí deasa a bheidh ar bun idir 16-20 Márta! Today, a meeting of the Irish Council was organised - a temporary council that has been put together to arrange fun events for the school as a part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. There was at least one representative from each class, as well as a few teachers, and they have put together a vision for the week. We are all looking forward to the lovely activities that will take place between 16-20 March! This week we are celebrating Book Week and Mother Language Week in our school. Thank you to all our wonderful parents/grandparents who gave some of their time to visit the school and read to the children. Here is a selection of photos from our reading sessions. On behalf of the staff and students at Citywest ETNS, we would like to thank one of our parents who kindly sponsored a set of Bee-Bots for our school. Bee-Bots are award winning programmable floor robots with a simple, child-friendly layout which is a perfect starting point for teaching control, directional language and programming to young children. We greatly appreciate their kindness and generosity. What a wonderful gesture to provide our teachers with the IT resources they need and students with a learning tool they can enjoy and benefit from. The staff and all the children are definitely putting the Bee Bots to good use. If you would like to learn more about Bee Bots please click on the following link: http://www.bee-bot.us/bee-bot.html It's Book Week and Mother Language Week! Thank you to all the parents who have come in to read in their mother language this week. It is World Book Day on Thursday and all children are invited to come in dressed up as their favourite book character. We look forward to an exciting week ahead!
