Fundraising for a bereaved family in our school

25/11/2014

Our school has been devastated by the tragic news of the death of the mother of a pupil in our school.  Our thoughts are with Damian and his children at this very painful time.

Apart from the devastating loss and heartache that Daria's death brings to the family, there are practical difficulties that this loss heaps on top of Damian as he tries to care for and provide for his family over the coming weeks and months.

A kind friend has set up a fund-raiser to help the family at this time. If you would like to help, please visit http://www.gofundme.com/Dobroniega to give what you can.

We thank you for your thoughts and kind words at this difficult time and we know that our wonderful community will support Damian and his children, both now and over the coming months and years.

A Visit from Dublin Fire Brigade

22/10/2014

Today we had a visit from four members of Dublin Fire Brigade. Brian, John, Steven and Sarah came from Tallaght Fire Station to talk to us about Fire Safety, and about what it is like to be a Fire Fighter.
They took lots of time to answer our questions individually and the children really enjoyed the chat.

School Access

Please note that access to the school is through the yard only for the remainder of this week.

This is to enable extensive work to take place on the roof tiles at our entrance.

Maths Week 2014 took place from 11 to 19 October and we had a great time opening our Maths Eyes at school!

All of the classes had a particular focus on Maths throughout the week, with the infant classes playing lots of Maths games, and First and Second class even having a Maths Quiz on Friday afternoon!

Parents had an opportunity to get involved by checking out the maths trail signage throughout the school. Congratulations to John McManus who won the Guess the Amount competition, when he guessed that the small jar had more cubes than the larger one. (The large jar contained 125 blocks and the smaller one, 129).

Watch out on the individual class websites for more information about their Maths Week activities!
