Do you have any of the following to help us in our outdoor and indoor play and games?

It would be of great help to us in our learning if you could donate any of the above to us for our classroom! Thank you.

First school portrait photos!

25/9/2012

The photographer was in the school today to take the first ever portrait photographs at Citywest Educate Together NS. Every child had an individual photo taken. We took a class photo and a whole-school photo (which was the class photo with Ross and Caitriona added in!) and we took a staff photo - the children had great fun trying to make Caitriona and Ross smile for the camera! These photos will be important for our history books!

The proofs will be back in two weeks for parents to decide on.

Part-time after-school care now available!

25/9/2012

Fledglings and Citywest ETNS are delighted to announce that Fledglings are now offering part-time after-school care as well as full-time care. Please contact Lyndsey at 085 7383261 or at fledglingscitywestetns@gmail.com for more information. Again, this is in direct response to parent requests and the needs of our families. If you want something, ask! We will do our best to work with you to make it happen!

Putting the finishing touches to our new School

1/9/2012

We think our school looks fantastic. Have a look through these photos and see for yourself!

Super team-work ensures our school is ready!

Thank you SOOO much to the amazing team of volunteers who turned up today to prepare our school for Monday.

Every inch was bleached, vacuumed or mopped; every piece of furniture wrapping saved for Art activities; every corner filled with colourful books!

Such dedication - thank you! Thank you Leona, Mick, Stephen, Vanessa, Anita, Julie, Kinga, Nico, Anna, Darragh, Alfonso and Marc. Thank you to our caretaker Brian, to our teacher Ross and to our principal Caitriona, each of whom put in very long days recently! It will all pay off on Monday when we see our children safely and happily settled in their school.

And huge thanks to James and everyone at Orna Building Services, who put in an amazing 4 weeks' work to get the school ready for us on time. It was a huge challenge and we really appreciate their achievement!

Important Notice: Access to school site!

28/8/2012

Picture
Please note that, while our school building and surrounding areas will be ready and safe for Monday morning, there is ongoing building work around the school site which will prevent us using the entrance opposite the LUAS stop. Access will be at the rear of the site only while these works continue.Directions are as follows: Standing at the LUAS stop, facing the school site, turn right and continue to the T-junction. Turn left at the T. Take the next turn left, just before you would go under the pedestrian bridge. This will bring you onto an access road which has housing along your right and fencing along your left. Follow the road and turn left into the school car park just after the slight bend in the road.

See you there on Monday morning!

School bus for Citywest ETNS!

24/8/2012

Picture
Moloney Coaches provide a school bus service in the Citywest area and would be happy to include pupils from Citywest ETNS on their school-bus run, which travels three times every day, in order to facilitate arrival at school and going home for both Infant classes and more senior classes.

If you would like to find out more, please go to www.moloneycoaches.com and contact Tony, who will fill you in on the service he provides.

Countdown - less than 2 weeks to go!

21/8/2012

With less than two weeks to go until Citywest Educate Together NS opens its doors, we prepare to make history as the very first school to open in Citywest!

We are extremely busy getting everything ready. The builders are working non-stop on our building. Our volunteers are collecting donations. Our parents and children are clearing their playrooms, getting school-bags ready and counting the days until 3rd September 2012! And we are ordering all supplies, from chairs and desks to books and pencils, toilet paper and soap to  teabags and mugs, whiteboards and displays to counting cubes and music CDs! It's all go!
