Following on from the success of last year, the Parents' Association decided to host another lovely Pancake Tuesday event for all the children and staff at our school! A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers - Joanne, Nandan, Yani, Yasmine (along with her wonderful daughter), Cher, Georgina, Olga, Elizabeth and Jimmy - who volunteered their time to shop for pancakes and toppings, squeeze lemons, heat, prepare and then serve them to everybody! It was a wonderful team effort which made the day that little bit more exciting for all the children!
As a lot of you already know there is currently NO second level school in Citywest! Hard to believe when there are 4 primary schools all within in a short distance of each other. The Citywest Educate Together Second Level Campaign group have been working tirelessly since 2014 to rectify this situation as our children URGENTLY need a second level school to progress onto! We need everyone in our school community to visit our Campaign page for all the up to date information and to please get involved in any way you can! If you haven't already please fill out the Expression of Interest form which can be found at the top of the campaign page.
The Campaign group are meeting tomorrow evening, 25th January @ 9pm in Citywest Hotel. All welcome!!
The first Parents' Association meeting of 2018 will take place on Wednesday 24th January at 7.30pm in the school. Lots to discuss including upcoming events and a PA initiatives for the next few weeks. All parents/guardians of children in our school are invited along to participate in the meeting. Hope to see you there!

Every year, our Parents Association run a raffle alongside our winter concert. We are looking forward to the raffle event this year as it is always exciting and fun.
Parent volunteers will be selling raffle tickets from Monday 18th December at the end of the school day - from 1pm and again from 2pm. They will be selling tickets on a couple of the mornings that week too.
You will also be able to buy tickets on the day of the concerts and raffle. Volunteers will be at the concerts, selling tickets before and after the first and second shows - not during them, of course! We wouldn't want to take away from the stars of the show, our children!
We would love to get lots of lovely prizes for the raffle. Please leave donations in to the school office any day between now and then. Every little item helps - we will package smaller items into hampers to make more attractive prizes so don't feel that you have to hand in a whole prize. Every box of chocolates, bottle of wine or packet of colouring pencils donated will be used to make bigger prizes.
As always, thank you for your support. The raffle this year is in aid of sports jerseys for our school. Just this year, our first sports teams were created. Up to now, they have been borrowing jerseys from various clubs around Dublin every time they had a match. They would absolutely love to wear jerseys that have our own school name, colours and crest on them - imagine the pride those children would feel wearing that! We look forward to this great fundraiser and we know our amazing school community will support it.
The raffle draw will take place between the 2nd and 3rd concerts on 22nd December, at approx 12pm. All are welcome to attend but don't worry if you're not there - we will save your prize for you and you can collect it in January.
All parents and guardians are invited along to the upcoming Parents' Association meeting which takes place in the school on Wednesday 6th December @ 7.30pm.
Items to be discussed include upcoming events and PA involvement initiatives for the coming weeks.
Last Friday, 17th of November the PA hosted another hugely successful Cake Sale. Thank you very much to those who came along or sent money in with their children so they could purchase some goodies!
Treats were incredible as always and the creativity behind some of the cakes was amazing - thanks to all for your kind donations!!!!
Huge thanks to Anna for coordinating this event along with the support of wonderful volunteers Jimmy, Susanna, Elizabeth, Liz, Biba, Maya, Nadia, Yasmin, Yani, Leona, Ivana, Jessica, Jenny and Serena.
Total amount raised was €970,17!! This will help the school to create a garden for our kids!
Containers are available for collection from the main entrance hall.
We are looking forward to welcoming lots of parents and guardians to the school on the morning of Wednesday 22nd November, after school drop-off for a nice hot cuppa! This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and guardians and maybe meet a like-minded person who will be a new friend for you!
You don't need to have fluent English to come along. Lots of our parents and guardians don't. You never know, you might meet another person who speaks your language!
Babies in buggies are welcome. Toddlers are fine to come along too as long as they are not allowed to run around the school or otherwise disrupt lessons.
Coffee mornings are FREE. There is no charge. The purpose of the event is to build community and to get parents and guardians into the school and happy to be in our school.
We look forward to seeing you then!
Dear Parents & Guardians,
We are delighted to host an annual Cake Sale on Friday 17th of November! Cakes and treats in any shape or form are always gratefully accepted. Please don’t feel under pressure if baking is not your thing. There are other ways to contribute - please contact us if you wish to help out on the day.
All funds raised from this event will go towards creating a garden for our school.
On the day:
● Cakes and treats will be accepted from 8.30am by Parents’ Association members at PE Hall (entrance via car park) or the Drop-Off volunteers in the car park.
● Parents can visit the cake sale in the main entrance hall when collecting their child(ren) from school. If you won't be at the school and would like to send money with your child for him/her to buy treats for him/herself, please put the money in an envelope in their school bag. Teachers will not be able to mind money for children during the day.
Please remember to label any plates or containers so we can return them to you. As always we are extremely grateful for your support!

On Friday 20th October we hosted our Annual Quiz and Raffle Night.
It was wonderful to see so many people from our school community - parents, teachers, staff, family members and friends all coming together, having a great time and raising funds for our school. Thank you so much to each and every individual who came along on the night and to those who couldn't make it but bought raffle tickets. Your generosity meant over €900 was raised for our school garden!
As always a great deal of planning and teamwork are required for these events and this would not have been made possible without the dedication of a small number of parents in our school community.
A massive thank you to Leona for organising the whole event. From liaising with St Mary's GAA Club in Saggart who kindly allowed us to use the venue free of charge, to the arduous task of preparing the wonderfully diverse quiz questions to then carrying out an amazing job as quiz master - assisted by Roisin and Amy on the scoreboard. To Joanne for doing a wonderful job coordinating the raffle and to the team of individuals who gathered prize donations from local businesses and beyond, designed quiz tickets and sold quiz and raffle tickets in the lead up to and on the night - in particular Elizabeth, Yani, Andrés, Anna, Anita, Georgina, Liz and Eliza.
HUGE congrats to The 'Trackers' for taking 1st place in the quiz with 'The Knackered Mams' and The 'Runners Up' coming 2nd and 3rd. The prize money was kindly donated by Mason Hayes and Curran Solicitors.
Well done to all the raffle prize winners - the generosity of those who donated was overwhelming!
