Election of new Board members

Our Patron, Educate Together, have already appointed Austin O'Sullivan and Norma Healy as their nominees on our Board of Management. Austin and Norma have already served on our Board of Management and so, in addition to their skills and expertise, they bring a strong corporate knowledge to the Board, which is very valuable. We are very thankful to Austin and Norma for continuing to volunteer their time for our school.

As school principal, Caitriona Hand also remains on the Board of Management. With a total of eight years serving on the Boards of Management of three different schools, as well as significant committee experience prior to that, Caitriona brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of school management and Department of Education procedure and rules.

School staff will elect the teacher nominee at their staff meeting on 20th October.

Also on 20th October, our Parents' Association is hosting a double event in our school - their Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the election of both parent nominees to the Board of Management. An email will be sent to all parents in relation to this. Please check your inbox and click to acknowledge receipt of this email.

These six nominees will meet to discuss the skills present and missing in that group and to decide who to invite onto the Board as community nominees. Department of Education (DES) procedure will be followed at all times.

It is anticipated that this process will be complete by 30th November 2015 and that the new term of office will start, as scheduled, on 1st December 2015. These members will serve on the Board of Management for four years. In 2019, this process will be repeated, according to DES rules at that time.
