2018 was our last year with developing school status and so now, September 2019, is our first back-to-school without having to meet enrolment targets to keep all teachers on staff for the year. Its our first year without setting up new classrooms with new furniture, ICT equipment, teaching manuals and so on. Its the year in which we will move into our permanent building.
As it happens, it is also the year in which membership of Boards of Management in all primary schools in the country changes. In November 2019, the Board of Management that has set up our school and ensured its survival, security and success will step down and hand the school on to new members to lead us in the next phase.
And so it is absolutely timely that we take a breath, review, collect our thoughts and together plan so that we can all work together to keep the best bits of the school we have set up and add quality programmes in a planned fashion. When we are all clear on the vision, both short- and long-term, we can work together and stay focussed.
This is a very exciting step for our school. We are very proud of the work done by all in our community in the development phase of our existence and we look forward to working together in the early years of being an established school.
You can read our Draft Strategy Plan on the Policy Development page of our website. Parents, pupils and staff will be sent questionnaires in the coming weeks. Please engage with that. This is OUR school, OUR community. Let's make sure that we are working towards OUR vision over the coming years!
