School-Home Communication

Most home-school communication for our school is electronic - via our website, via e-mail and via text.

Please make sure to check our website and your e-mail regularly so that you keep up-to-date. Once you have read an e-mail from us, please click to acknowledge receipt so that we know you have received it.

While we aim to reduce the number of paper notes sent home, there will be times when it is necessary. If you think you may have missed a note, please check with Nicola, our school secretary, either in person or via e-mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please use the button below to let us know if any details have changed.

Dear parents and guardians,

Please see attached a notice from our Parents' Association.

On Tuesday 20th October, at 7pm, there will be a very important meeting in the school - the Parents' Association AGM and nominations and ballots for parent nominees to our Board of Management. Please come along.

Please click below to confirm to us that you have read this email.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Caitriona Hand,

Principal.

The attachment reads as follows:

Citywest ETNS Parents’ Association

Annual General Meeting

7-9pm on 20th October 2015

  • Meet the outgoing committee members

  • Gain a better understanding of the work that has been done over the past year

  • Meet other parents

  • Explore ways you can get involved too

  • See a brief overview of the initiatives the PA has been involved in, our fundraising and other activities over the past academic year

We will be looking to nominate and elect committee members on the night too – please come along!

On the same night we will be electing parent nominees (one male and one female) for the Board of Management.

The Board of Management (BOM) holds a vital role in running and managing in the school.  The BOM is made up of two nominees from Educate Together, the school principal, a teacher, two parent nominees (one male and one female) and two others from the community. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the school. More information about this is on the school website.

Nominations and ballot will both be held on the night, as per Option 1 in Appendix B of the BOM Constitution.

Both of these events are a great opportunity to meet other parents and to find out more about all the work going on in the school.  It’s also important that you have a say into who will be sitting on the committees – that is what democracy is all about! Please come along and support this event!
