Its a busy time for our school. Lots of info below. Please do take the time to read it.
Keep going!
We know its hard to keep going. We are all getting tired and many people are ready for the summer break. We really encourage you to keep September in mind. It will be hard enough to get used to school again in September without having checked out this early. Please encourage your child to do at least one school-related activity each day and to send one submission to their teacher each week. It really will make a difference in September, wherever the children are learning at that stage. We hope that Seesaw makes it easier and we are continuing with our themed fortnights - next up is Diversity Fortnight, which will be followed by Active Fortnight. We are trying to make everything as engaging as possible for the children and encourage you to keep some routine going for the next 4 weeks. This weekend is a long weekend with a Bank Holiday on Monday - take the time to rest over the weekend and come back on Tuesday ready to motivate your child to finish out the term with success!
Missed book collection?
Thanks so much to those who came to the school on Monday. It was wonderful to see you. If you couldn't make it, not to worry, we can arrange further collection by appointment only, for Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th June. If you would like to collect books on those dates, please reply to this email with the day, time and child's name. We will have the books out and ready for you at the appointed time.
Planning for the new school year
We are pleased to publish the school calendar and school expenses for the coming school year. Please note that the amount requested per child has been reduced. This is due to lower use of resources in the school this term and an acknowledgement that some families may be struggling financially this year. However, we should flag that, for the first year ever, we expect to run the school on a deficit next year, due to an expected reduction in rental income. Therefore, we would ask those families who can afford to pay the school expenses to do so.
There will be no mixing up of classes this year. Each class will move forward into the next school year as the unit they are currently. We hope to let you know the teacher allocation in mid June. Where possible, children will be taught next year by a teacher already known to them.
Consent
If you have not already given consent for the following, please do so now. We are beginning to plan for September and expect there to be some element of blended learning i.e. children spending some time learning at school and some time learning at home. It will make it much easier to coordinate activities if we have every child signed up on every platform.
Have your say
- Please take part in the virtual Guard of Honour for our graduates, any time before 19th June.
- Please send us your child's comment for their end-of-year report card this year by Tuesday 2nd June.
- Please let us know if you have any tips for how other families can Survive Summer 2020!
