This page is one of a suite of pages to support families learning at home during Covid-19. We hope this page helps you to get into good habits for your personal well-being!

Well-being Fortnight Overview

Welcome to Citywest ETNS Well-being Fortnight!
Well-being Fortnight ran for the first two weeks of May but you can do it any time!

As we are all at home for longer, it is more and more important to look after our well-being.
We hope that these resources will help you to develop some good habits to help your well-being, even long after Well-being Fortnight has finished!

For Well-being Fortnight, we did three types of activities:
  1. Weaving Well-being new free booklet
  2. One tip a day to help your well-being
  3. Community events - Our School Rocks and School assemblies

Keep reading to find out more information.

Weaving Well-being

We introduced the Weaving Well-being programme to our school in 2018. It has been very successful for us and we noticed a much greater awareness of well-being levels and well-being habits after introducing it.

We were so excited to see the makers of the programme develop a free booklet in the early weeks of lockdown.

During Well-being Fortnight, we suggested that EVERYONE (parents and siblings as well as pupils of our school) get into the habit of completing two pages per day of the booklet. It will set you up for positive thinking and for looking after yourself.

One tip a day

Each day during Well-being Fortnight, we shared one tip or habit that we recommend. These tips were for adults as well as children.

It takes 30 days to make a habit so it is worth putting in the effort in the early days to re-train your brain. Hopefully, by the end of Well-being Fortnight, you will be in the habit and will also keep time every day for building your attitude to life by using the rest of the Weaving Well-being booklet or some other way to give your brain a chance to think happy and productive thoughts!

School Assemblies

During Well-being Fortnight, Caitriona hosted weekly assemblies for each class level via Zoom. It was lovely to see each other and we learned lots about this way of getting our school community together.

Sophia spent some time creating a self-portrait as part of Well-being Fortnight. Well done and thanks for sharing, Sophia!
Noah and his family went on a nature walk, which is a really lovely idea. Being outdoors and around nature can help us to feel good. Thanks for sharing, Noah!

I made a bird feeder for my nanny for well-being week 1. I wanted to cheer her up. She loves her garden. I'm also going to send her the poem I wrote from my Well-being journal.

From Ava.

What a lovely idea, Ava! I bet your nanny will be delighted!
