School-Home Communication

Most home-school communication for our school is electronic - via our website, via e-mail and via text.

Please make sure to check our website and your e-mail regularly so that you keep up-to-date. Once you have read an e-mail from us, please click to acknowledge receipt so that we know you have received it.

While we aim to reduce the number of paper notes sent home, there will be times when it is necessary. If you think you may have missed a note, please check with Nicola, our school secretary, either in person or via e-mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please use the button below to let us know if any details have changed.

Dear parents and guardians,
Thank you so much for your engagement with our first survey this week.

Distance Learning Surveys
With this email, we are pleased to release a further two surveys - one for you and one for your child.
The estimated completion time for the parent survey is 12 minutes and the estimated completed time for the child survey is 6 minutes. You will need to complete separate surveys for each child.
The results of these surveys will shape our school learning plan, our class learning plans and the learning plan we put in place for your own child for the coming months. It is mostly about distance learning because we want to have a community that feels ready and has the skill-set required, should we need to move to distance learning again. Please note, however, that we are planning to reopen the school building for all and to keep it open for all.
Please consider carefully the questions and take the time to complete the parent survey and to support your child in completing the child survey - that might mean reading the questions for them, clicking the responses for them and/or allowing time for them to think and discuss.
This survey will close at 2pm next Monday, 17th August.

Zoom meetings for parents
I will host Zoom meetings for parents as outlined below. This will be a chance for me to explain the plans we have in place. I hope that this will be reassuring and useful to you.
Tuesday 18th August at 7pm Meeting for parents of children starting Junior Infants
Wednesday 19th August at 7pm Meeting for parents of children moving into Senior Infants, 1st class and 2nd class
Thursday 20th August at 7pm Meeting for parents of children moving into 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th class
I will send meeting details on Friday.

Wishing you all a healthy and safe week,
Caitriona.
