Hi all!
We are very excited about our celebrations this week.
On Monday, we opened our new class - a class for children diagnosed with ASD. We are very excited to welcome, not only children into the new class, but quite a number of children into other classes also this week. It has been a busy week and we hope all of our new families feel welcomed!
This morning we had the delivery of the Irish flag by two members of the Air Corps. The event was attended by 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes from our school and by 1st and 2nd classes from Scoil Niamh and it was live-streamed into the other classes.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, we will have a special visit by three characters - Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Santa Clause! We will sing a song for our visitors and wave at them. If any child would like to give a letter or card to any of the visitors, they are welcome to do so.
On Thursday, we hope to finally finish our gardening project that was started in early November. Let's hope the weather allows us to proceed!
And finally, on Friday, we are having our grand concert, the first concert in our new PE hall. Parents of children in Junior Infants and Senior Infants should arrive at 11.20am. Over the course of an hour or so, each class will come to the hall to sing a few songs for you, including songs in different languages that they have learned from volunteer parents. Entry and exit during the concert is not permitted - all parents should stay for the full concert, not just the part that their own child is in.
Following the concert will be the raffle. You are welcome to stay for the raffle but are not obliged to.
Raffle tickets, along with school calendars, are for sale in the school throughout the week. Raffle tickets are 5 for 5 euro and the calendars are 10 euro each. Proceeds from both are going to buy classroom resources for the children so dig deep! There is no entry charge for the concert but we appreciate your support on the raffle and calendars.
Please remember our photography policy - do not take individual photos of any other child and do not publish any photo or video of any other child, including on social media such as Facebook. Also, do not talk while the children are performing. They deserve our respect and our attention.
School finishes on Tuesday 22nd December at 1.10pm. School re-opens on Wednesday 6th January at 8.30am.
We hope to see you over the coming week.
Regards,
Caitriona.
