School-Home Communication

Most home-school communication for our school is electronic - via our website, via e-mail and via text.

Please make sure to check our website and your e-mail regularly so that you keep up-to-date. Once you have read an e-mail from us, please click to acknowledge receipt so that we know you have received it.

While we aim to reduce the number of paper notes sent home, there will be times when it is necessary. If you think you may have missed a note, please check with Nicola, our school secretary, either in person or via e-mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please use the button below to let us know if any details have changed.

15th March: email to Denise's class - July Provision

15/3/2016

Dear parents and guardians,
I am writing to let you know that we have applied to run school-based July Provision/July Education Programme in our school. From the Department of Education website:
July Education Programme
The scheme provides funding for an extended school year for children with a severe or profound general learning disability or children with autism. The extended year is more commonly known as July Provision or the July Education Programme. Where school-based provision is not feasible, home-based provision may be granted.
Where an eligible school participates in the programme, an extra month's education is provided to a pupil who meets the scheme's criteria. Where school-based provision is not feasible, 40 hours home-based provision may be grant aided.
I expect that the scheme will run from 8.30am to 1.10pm each week day, 1st to 28th July this year, and that Denise will teach it for us. I also expect that school transport will be provided for this (Please know that I am equally frustrated by the delay on this as you are and have been following up on it.) I will let you know when further details are available. In the meantime, I would be grateful if you would let Denise or me know whether you will be availing of this provision.
Kind regards,
Caitriona.
