Sam Maguire Cup on display in our school today!
We are thrilled to welcome the Sam Maguire cup back to our school. This time, its not for just half an hour but for the whole day!
"Sam" is visiting all of the classes during the day but will also be out to meet and greet parents from 12.55 to 1.25 and again from 1.55 to 2.25 today. Please come and see "The Sam", get photos and enjoy the opportunity to see and touch this great cup!
Parent-Teacher Meetings next week
Please check your child's school bag today for a slip letting you know the day and time of your meeting with your child's teacher.
Please pay particular attention to those details - every year, we have a few parents who turn up on the wrong day and have to come back again!
Reminder that children cannot attend meetings and cannot be left unsupervised in the building. We will, however, have a room available for parents to mind each other's children during meetings. That will be the library on all days other than Tuesday, when the library is used for an after-school class and so parents can use Leonie's classroom, just inside the front door of the school.
With school closing early on Tuesday and Wednesday, we have staff members who will mind those children who are taking part in after-school classes in our school until those classes start at 2.10pm. We do not have the facility to mind other children so please make sure that whoever is due to collect your child on Tuesday and Wednesday next week knows to collect them at 1.55pm - creche, bus, family member, neighbour.
Pancake Tuesday
As for last year, our Parents Association will be distributing pancakes to all children on Tuesday 13th February. Toppings will be chocolate spread and lemon and sugar. If your child is not allowed to eat any of these foods, please make sure that your child knows that. If you think they will not remember, reply to this email to let staff know.
New crest/logo competition
We have now launched a competition for designing our new school crest or logo, based on the values and concepts collected from our school community. Please encourage and help your child to take part in this. What a legacy the group of people in our community this year are leaving for the school in taking part in this process! Be a part of that legacy, however small!
