School-Home Communication

Most home-school communication for our school is electronic - via our website, via e-mail and via text.

Please make sure to check our website and your e-mail regularly so that you keep up-to-date. Once you have read an e-mail from us, please click to acknowledge receipt so that we know you have received it.

While we aim to reduce the number of paper notes sent home, there will be times when it is necessary. If you think you may have missed a note, please check with Nicola, our school secretary, either in person or via e-mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please use the button below to let us know if any details have changed.

27th August - email to Junior Infants

An email was sent to parents of every child starting Junior Infants next Monday. The purpose of this email was to tell parents which Junior Infant teacher their child will be placed with. The text of the message read:

Hello!

Welcome to Citywest Educate Together NS! We are very much looking forward to meeting you and your child next Monday morning.

Your child will be in Claire's/Ailish's/Ross' class* this year. You can see a photo of Claire/Ailish/Ross on the staff page of our website.

School starts for your child at 9.10am next Monday morning and finishes at 11.40am.

Our Parent Teacher Association is providing tea and coffee for you from 9.15am on Monday morning. This is a lovely opportunity to meet other parents and to get to know us a little. I will also be speaking about some important notices while you are enjoying the refreshments.

Please go to our News page over the weekend to read a very important notice about our school car park. In general, you should plan to walk or cycle to school with your child each day, rather than drive.

Finally, outstanding school expenses are due for payment on Monday. Nicola will be happy to accept them after you have settled your child in Claire's classroom.

I look forward to meeting you on Monday and to working with you over the coming eight years.

Kind regards,

Caitriona Hand.

PS If, for any reason, your child will not be coming to our school, please let me know immediately so that we can offer the school place to another child.

*This is your child's teacher, ONLY if your child is in school on Monday. If your child is not in school on Monday and arrives on a later date, he/she may be placed with a different teacher, as we aim to keep all class sizes as low as possible and will be placing children who arrive after the start of the school year in the smallest class in an effort to achieve this.
