School-Home Communication

Most home-school communication for our school is electronic - via our website, via e-mail and via text.

Please make sure to check our website and your e-mail regularly so that you keep up-to-date. Once you have read an e-mail from us, please click to acknowledge receipt so that we know you have received it.

While we aim to reduce the number of paper notes sent home, there will be times when it is necessary. If you think you may have missed a note, please check with Nicola, our school secretary, either in person or via e-mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please use the button below to let us know if any details have changed.

6th October - Email to all families: No school tomorrow

6/10/2016

Welcome to October!
September flew by so fast - everyone settled in to school fairly easily and school life is progressing smoothly. We have been busy planning a great school year and all of our main groups - Student Council, Parents' Association, Staff and Board of Management - have already had their first meeting of the year and are working on projects for the school.

Reminder - no school tomorrow, Friday 7th October
Reminder that the school is closed tomorrow, Friday 7th October, as our teachers are attending in-service training about the new language curriculum.
Parent seminar in our school next Monday 11am to 1pm
Thank you so much to all of the parents who voted on the topic of the seminar that Joseph Driessen will present to parents at our school next Monday. The topic with the most votes was "Parent-child relationships as the key to learning success" and so that is the topic that Joseph will present on. The second half of the seminar is given to a question-and-answer session and so there will be an opportunity then to ask advice about different areas of parenting.
The seminar will take place in Claire's classroom, which is the classroom facing into the staff car park. We hope to see lots of parents at the seminar and we hope that it is useful and beneficial.

Car Park
We are working with our landlord on changing access in the car park. We hope that the new plan will make things easier for everyone.
In the meantime, PLEASE obey the car park rules. They are there for the safety of all of our children.
In particular, parking in the staff car park is with a parking permit only. Any car found in that car park without a permit displayed will be stickered immediately.
Most importantly, the staff car park is used by the school buses and by creche staff, who are collecting groups of children numerous times a day. Each group of permit holders have been allocated particular places in the car park. Just because you see that there is a space in that car park does not mean that space is available. That space is allocated to different cars at different but specific times of the day. When a school bus or creche car arrives and cannot park in their designated spot, that puts those children - and others - at risk. Without a permit, there is NO PARKING in the staff car park AT ANY TIME OF DAY.
Also, please be kind and considerate towards each other. Everyone is in a rush; everyone has children who are vulnerable; anyone could be having a bad day. Letting another parent out in front of you will cost you two seconds at most but changes their day - and your day - for the better.
We will let you know when we have permission to change the flow in the car park and will send guidelines when that happens.

Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Caitriona.
