The Covid Response Plan for the Reopening of our Junior Classes (Junior Infants - 2nd Class) was ratified by our Board of Management this morning. This is in advance of these classes returning to the building on Monday the 1st March.
Please see our updated response plan below. This was ratified by our Board of Management on the 10th February in advance of the reopening of our special classes on the 22nd February.
We are pleased and proud to publish our distance learning plan for this school year.
In August, we asked parents, pupils and staff for their feedback and ideas. We considered those and put together what we think is that plan that best reflects that feedback.
Please see below for an overview of our plan.
In conjunction with this plan, we are proud to share our Distance Learning Skills page.
On Thursday morning, our Distance Learning team (Caitriona, Anita and Sharon) will host an information session for parents. At that, we will talk through the plan and our vision for distance learning at our school this year.
We look forward to working together again this year.
This quick guide is very useful. Please save it and refer to it. We recommend printing it and putting it up on your fridge or inside the door of a press in your kitchen so that you can refer to it when needed.

We were so impressed with the survey responses. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to consider our questions and to answer them. It gave us lots to think about and we are now busy using all of the information to develop a Distance Learning Plan for our school for the 2020/21 school year. We hope to publish the plan by 18th September.
We spent the week informing and reassuring the adults. Now that we are all a little more settled, it's time for us to share our enthusiasm for the start of the new school year with the children.
We really hope that these pages help the children to know what school will be like when they come back. Click on the link to see photos of the classrooms and of staff members working at that year group - with and without face coverings, a map for how to get to your classroom and videos of the routes. Please share your excitement and enthusiasm with your child and set them up for happily returning to school this week.
Over the past week, our school community has been very busy on Zoom, as meetings have been taking place to finalise the arrangements for our return to school next week.
As well as a staff meeting, Caitríona, Anita and Jessica hosted three meetings for parents, to share with them the main points of interest in relation to the return for school. These meetings were really well attended - we are delighted to have such an engaged parent body. After Caitríona took us through an overview of the school's response plan, she was able to put many people's minds at ease, in answering specific questions for parents.
Jessica, chairperson of the Parents Association, explained how the PA is modifying their activities in response to COVID-19, and encouraged parents to join the PA Facebook group to stay in touch.
We were also delighted to have as speakers, the parents of some children who have been attending our summer provision summer camp. Chris, Richard and Luana were all able to share the positive changes they have seen in their children from the very first day that they returned to the routine of school.
If you missed the meetings, you might be interested to take a look through the slides that were discussed, below.
The presentation for the parents of incoming Junior Infants was slightly different - check it out, below.
At a meeting of the Board of Management last night, our school's COVID Response Plan (below) was ratified. We have also put together a handy glance-sheet for parents, summarising some of the main points covered in the COVID Response Plan.
The Board has also issued a letter to parents in respect of the return to school this year.
