We would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back after the half term break and to provide you with some updates about what's been happening in the PA!
New officers
As some of you already know the AGM in October saw our Chairperson Clara Geaney step down after 2 years in the role. A founding member of the Parents' Association back in early 2014, Clara has been tireless in her dedication to this hectic role as the PA formed and figured out it's part in our school community.
Our wonderful Treasurer Anita Coughlan also stepped down after 3 years in the role.
Following elections these posts were filled by Janice McPartling (Chairperson), Kamila Cyluk (Treasurer) with Liz Murphy staying on in the role of Secretary.
Due to a change in circumstances Janice unfortunately had to step down as Chairperson and we thank her for all her hard work in the short time she had in the role!
Following our EGM on the 13th of February Eliza Knop was elected as the new Chairperson of the PA. Eliza has been an extremely hard working and dedicated member of the PA since the beginning, managing all the PA's publicity and setting up and coordinating the all important Drop-off Scheme. As Eliza steps down as Drop-off coordinator we are delighted to have Anna Jeziorska take over.
At this EGM parents were also given the opportunity to put themselves forward as class representatives on the committee. We are delighted with the interest shown in these roles as they will provide a more balanced PA. The following parents were elected:
Junior Infants - Cher Gates & Armelle Roselier
Senior Infants - Fiona Kearney & Eliza Knop
1st Class - Joanne Smith & Anna Jeziorska
2nd Class - Klaudia Pawlowska
3rd Class - Elizabeth Peral
As of yet we have no reps for 4th Class or Leonie's Class, if you would like to be involved please email [email protected]
That brings us up to speed on the Committee, now a quick word about upcoming events!
PA Events
Tuesday - 28th of February we will be hosting a Pancake Event for all classes. The PA will be serving Pancakes to the children during their snack break. For any children with allergies or food intolerance parents please make sure your child is aware as the pancakes are shop bought and contain eggs, milk and gluten. We will be more than happy to heat up any homemade pancakes for any child with a particular dietary requirement - please ensure to label them.
