On Thursday 25th of October the Parents' Association and Student Council worked together to organise a fun filled day for everyone in our school community. With the PA hosting the ever popular cake sale and the Student Council hosting a dress up day there was a great buzz around the school! So much effort was put in to the cakes and costumes, thank you so much to everyone who brought something along and well done to the best dressed winners who received a voucher for the cake sale donated by the PA.
Over €1000 was raised on the day, this will go towards the cost of the 6th class school tour which will be an over night stay in an adventure centre and is something all families in our community will eventually benefit from! As always a MASSIVE thank you to all of the volunteers which included students from 6th class who gave their time in the lead up to and on the day of this event! On Thursday 11th of October the Parents' Association held its Annual General Meeting, the 2017/2018 Report which was read out to those in attendance is available to read below. Elections were also held on the night as our wonderful Chairperson Eliza Knop has decided to step down having held the position since February 2017. A founding member of the PA back in early 2014, Eliza has dedicated so much time and energy to this role and thankfully will continue as an active participant at meetings and events! Following the elections Joanne Smith has been voted in as the new Chairperson of the PA. Joanne has been an extremely active member of the PA for a number of years and we are delighted she has been elected to this role! Finances will continue to be managed by our wonderful Treasurer Elizabeth Peral Ruiz and Liz Murphy will continue as Secretary. Anna Jeziorska continues to do an amazing job as Drop Off coordinator and will stay on in this role. As always the PA welcome any contribution, whether it's an hour or two of your time at an event, an idea or suggestion or particular skill. It's not always possible for everyone to attend meetings so please make contact by email or on the PA Facebook group page Citywest ETNS Parents Association. Email: citywestetns.parents@gmail.com

On Wednesday 14th March Klaudia held another of her wonderful arts and crafts workshops for everyone in our school community. Even though our school did not participate in the Saggart/Rathcoole parade this year, Klaudia organised the workshop so everyone would have something to take with them to whatever parade they went to! It was such a fun afternoon full of colour and enthusiasm- a big thanks to Klaudia for organising it! Following on from the success of last year, the Parents' Association decided to host another lovely Pancake Tuesday event for all the children and staff at our school! A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers - Joanne, Nandan, Yani, Yasmine (along with her wonderful daughter), Cher, Georgina, Olga, Elizabeth and Jimmy - who volunteered their time to shop for pancakes and toppings, squeeze lemons, heat, prepare and then serve them to everybody! It was a wonderful team effort which made the day that little bit more exciting for all the children!
