See you there on Monday morning!
Please note that, while our school building and surrounding areas will be ready and safe for Monday morning, there is ongoing building work around the school site which will prevent us using the entrance opposite the LUAS stop. Access will be at the rear of the site only while these works continue.Directions are as follows: Standing at the LUAS stop, facing the school site, turn right and continue to the T-junction. Turn left at the T. Take the next turn left, just before you would go under the pedestrian bridge. This will bring you onto an access road which has housing along your right and fencing along your left. Follow the road and turn left into the school car park just after the slight bend in the road.
See you there on Monday morning! Citywest Educate Together National School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ross O Corrain as our classroom teacher! Ross is an experienced Educate Together teacher, with experience in Portlaoise ETNS, Newbridge ETNS and Lucan ETNS. He is also particularly interested in Infant Education and is an Aistear tutor, giving workshops to other teachers on the Aistear framework. His passion is Drama and we look forward to seeing his skills in action in Citywest ETNS! Ross is now very busy getting everything ready for class to start on Monday! Moloney Coaches provide a school bus service in the Citywest area and would be happy to include pupils from Citywest ETNS on their school-bus run, which travels three times every day, in order to facilitate arrival at school and going home for both Infant classes and more senior classes. If you would like to find out more, please go to www.moloneycoaches.com and contact Tony, who will fill you in on the service he provides. With less than two weeks to go until Citywest Educate Together NS opens its doors, we prepare to make history as the very first school to open in Citywest!
We are extremely busy getting everything ready. The builders are working non-stop on our building. Our volunteers are collecting donations. Our parents and children are clearing their playrooms, getting school-bags ready and counting the days until 3rd September 2012! And we are ordering all supplies, from chairs and desks to books and pencils, toilet paper and soap to teabags and mugs, whiteboards and displays to counting cubes and music CDs! It's all go! We had a lovely Family day back in June when we all got to meet up and the children got to meet each other. There are more than half of our pupils who weren't there, however, either because they couldn't make it or because they hadn't enrolled by then.
Some of these pupils and their families would love to meet their classmates before school starts so they can know another face when they come in on 3rd September! If you would like to arrange a play-date with another family, you can put a post on our Facebook page asking other families to Message you with contact details. We look forward to meeting everyone at 8.30am on Monday 3rd September! Wow! You are all so generous! The donations are flying in now and mingling nicely with the classroom requisites we are beginning to purchase for September! So far we have been gifted: - a fridge-freezer - 3 PCs - a laptop - 20 ring-binders - a volleyball net and volleyballs - complete jigsaws - good-as-new children's books - home corner toys such as a shop and dress-up clothes - 2 jars of soap - 6 computer tables - time - 100 euro to be spent on ethical education library books for the Junior Infant classroom - storage space (to store these gifts until 1st September!) - a shelving unit As you can see, they range from small to big and most were items being replaced in their previous homes. Is there anything you have that would like to be re-homed?! We promise to take good care of it! Have a look at our wish-list and let us know if there's anything you can offer. Many thanks to all our supporters. Here's a flier Fledglings have created about our new partnership. Make sure to scroll down to read the extra information in the FAQ! Have you spotted our new websites? Junior Infants have their own website, which you can visit here: citywestetnsjuninf.weebly.com and Senior Infants have a website just for them too: citywestetnsseninf.weebly.com! They will have so much fun designing their own websites and sharing artwork, activities and news with you! Make sure you come back in September to see how they're getting on!
Please have a look at our wish list and consider making a donation, however small. Some donations we have already received are: - complete jigsaws - beanbags - plastic make-believe toys (Unfortunately, we cannot accept teddy bears or other soft toys due to health and safety concerns.) - ring-binders - PCs - computer tables - cash - good-as-new children's books - jars of hand soap - volleyballs with a net Is there anything you can offer that would help us out? Do you know of any business that might be doing a clear-out or is happy to support a local cause? Please e-mail [email protected] with any offers. Thank you. The Tallaght Express have advertised this position on their Facebook page for us. See text of the ad below:
