This leaflet gives you all the information you need! You can contact the dance teacher, Pat, or the school for more information. Please feel free to print this leaflet and share it with friends, neighbours and family. Every euro raised at the class goes directly to Citywest Educate Together NS! We are thrilled to announce that we have been allocated a full-time teacher to support our pupils with additional language needs - that is, children who speak very little English. Aoife Hogan is our new teacher. Aoife has worked in a great number of Educate Together schools and is also experienced in early childhood education. Aoife will be teaching our Senior Infant pupils in the core subjects and will team-teach with Ross in all other curriculum areas. This is a wonderful support for our children and we look forward to introducing them to Aoife on Monday morning! Set-dancing classes for adults will start in our school on Monday 8th October from 8pm to 10pm. Set-dancing is a great, fun way to exercise. Come along and try it out for just one night any Monday evening, to see if it's something you'd enjoy doing! If you decide it is something you'd like to have a go at, you'll be very welcome to join us any Monday. If you decide it's not for you, there is no obligation whatsoever to come back. Everyone is welcome and a partner is not required. People who have never done set dancing before are especially welcome!
The cost is 10 euro per adult per evening. This full amount will be donated to our school so you can enjoy a great evening, learn a new skill and donate to Citywest Educate Together NS at the same time! Please tell family, friends and neighbours about our class. As a school, we want to show off our lovely facilities and for our school to be of benefit to the whole community, not just the children! Tourists are welcome as well as locals and the LUAS provides great transport for anyone who wishes to travel from another part of Dublin to the class! All welcome - see you there! For more information, please visit http://www.setdancing.com/monday/. Do you have any of the following to help us play and learn?
- Clean toy or real food containers - A toy cash register and/or money - Toy shopping bags (or small ones) - Small world toys such as mini people, animals, cars or furniture - Lego bricks of all sizes Do you have any of the following to help us learn how to sort and match things in Maths? - Different types of buttons - Different types of bottle lids or caps - Pasta of all shapes and colours - Coloured socks or ties Do you have any of the following to help us in our outdoor and indoor play and games? - Balls, any size or texture - Small bean bags - Hula hoops - Safe skipping ropes It would be of great help to us in our learning if you could donate any of the above to us for our classroom! Thank you. After three long weeks without access to internet at the school, we are thrilled and delighted to finally have access this afternoon. This will make all of our admin work so much easier and mean that we can respond to e-mails and update our website during the working day - yay!
The photographer was in the school today to take the first ever portrait photographs at Citywest Educate Together NS. Every child had an individual photo taken. We took a class photo and a whole-school photo (which was the class photo with Ross and Caitriona added in!) and we took a staff photo - the children had great fun trying to make Caitriona and Ross smile for the camera! These photos will be important for our history books!
The proofs will be back in two weeks for parents to decide on. Fledglings and Citywest ETNS are delighted to announce that Fledglings are now offering part-time after-school care as well as full-time care. Please contact Lyndsey at 085 7383261 or at [email protected] for more information. Again, this is in direct response to parent requests and the needs of our families. If you want something, ask! We will do our best to work with you to make it happen!
Our Staff page has been updated to include our Learning Support and Language Support teacher, Martina Byrne. Martina is a very busy lady, working in 4 different schools every week! Martina helps us learn for one hour every day. Some days she teaches phonics and maths to our Senior Infant pupils and other days she works with Ross in the classroom, helping to make sure that every child gets the support he or she needs. She also helps us on the yard, teaching us new games and helping us to play together. From this week, a GAA (Gaelic Athletics Association) coach will be coming to the school every Wednesday to teach us GAA skills and to help us practice them. We can't wait to see the children enjoy this class!
Go check out our class website - we have added a new page all about the games we play on yard and we have added our new songs to the Rhymes and Poems page. We are having lots of fun in school.
Senior Infants have news for you this week too! |
