Senior Infant children will have their hearing tests done on Thursday 22nd of October. If you have not done so already, please return the blue form to the office as soon as possible. Thanks.
Sometimes, as a busy parent, reading with your child can be reduced to a few stressful minutes of reading his/her school book between all the other demands of the day.
While we know reading has innumerable benefits for our children, it can be so hard to FIND THE TIME. This is why we are proud to announce the beginning of a new initiative to inject some energy into reading with your child. Every now and then, throughout the months of October, November and December, we will drop you a text, suggesting ideas you may not have considered for building your child's literacy skills. Hopefully, you'll have a chance to try out some of these ideas and have a new kind of fun with your child! Love Stories for EveryoneHear love stories from many places in the Tellers Without Borders storytelling session on October 9 in Áras Chrónáin, Clondalkin. The session will be hosted by Brendan Nolan and will start at 8pm. "Everyone has a favourite love story. Everyone is welcome to attend to tell a story, or, to simply listen and enjoy and sigh," he said. "Love stories recognise neither border nor boundary. When we arrive seeking peace and quiet in a new country we can be confused, some people are frightened. Telling and listening to love stories reassures us that all will be well, once more." Our next Fundraiser is our easiest yet! It's pretty self-explanatory - and it's Win/Win! You clear out all the old clothes in your house, and the school benefits! Items can be brought to the school and left in main reception hall. Bring as many bags as you like. Take unwanted items off your friends, neighbours, colleagues, family (ANYONE!). It’s a good excuse for a clearout, but at the same time raises much needed funds for the school. For more information contact the Parents’ Association on: citywestetns.parents@gmail.com *Please ensure items are bagged up, clean and reusable. |
